Liz Truss quits as UK PM; Budget 'disaster' ends her 45-day long stint

- Liz Truss resigns as UK's Prime Minister just 6 weeks after taking charge. Truss was in power for just 45 days, which is the shortest term for a British PM. Truss has admitted that she cannot deliver the mandate on which she was elected. Her economic programme had sent shockwaves through the markets and divided her conservative party just weeks after she was appointed. Liz Truss will remain the UK Prime Minister till her successor is chosen. According to Truss statement, the next PM will be elected within a week.
