French President Emmanuel Macron has condemned the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran as being carried out “outside international law,” even as he orders France’s flagship carrier strike group toward the Eastern Mediterranean and deploys Rafale jets to the region. At the same time, Macron announced that the nuclear‑powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, along with its air wing of Rafale fighters, frigates, air‑defense and airborne radar systems, has been ordered to leave northern waters and head toward the Mediterranean to protect European and Gulf partners amid the spiraling Iran conflict.
