Netanyahu wins Israeli election, secures record fifth term in office

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won the Israeli national election. The 69-year-old Prime Minister secured a record fifth term in office. Exit polls showed him surging ahead of his rival, former general Benny Gantz. Results put Netanyahu in a position to form a coalition govt with right-wing factions. He said, “I was very moved that the nation of Israel once again entrusted me for the fifth time, and an even greater trust. I am telling you, it again gave trust for us and for me, it's unprecedented. When did we ever get so many seats? I don't remember.”
