Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he and US President Donald Trump have agreed that Iran will not be allowed to renew its nuclear programme. Speaking at the Knesset following their late-December meeting, Netanyahu said Israel would also prevent Iran from rebuilding its ballistic missile industry and called for the removal of all enriched uranium and strict monitoring of nuclear facilities. He added that Israel supports the Iranian people’s aspirations for freedom, suggesting a decisive moment could be approaching. Netanyahu met Trump in Florida on December 29 to discuss the Gaza ceasefire and Iran.
