Pak stares at bankruptcy; Sharif govt to levy $630 Mn tax to secure IMF deal

Pakistan is staring at bankruptcy as it yet again failed to crack a deal with the IMF for a bailout package. The team of IMF officials left Islamabad on Friday without a consensus on the $1.1 billion funding, the latest tranche of $6.5 billion programme signed in 2019. Pakistan's Finance Minister has now decided to levy PKR 170 billion worth of taxes on the common man to meet IMF's last round of conditions. Watch this video to find out more details.
