‘Pim, Pum, Pa!’: Venezuela downs suspected drug planes, Maduro hails success

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) intercepted and shot down multiple drug-trafficking planes that illegally entered Venezuelan airspace this week. In a televised address, Maduro stated that the FANB’s air defenses rapidly detected and neutralized two aircraft linked to narcotics shipments, and subsequently intercepted two additional planes attempting to enter from the north later the same day.
