Putin’s NATO endgame flops! Russia to be the only arctic state out of alliance

- The members of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation extended a formal invite to Finland and Sweden to join the military alliance. With this, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s anti-NATO tirade has flopped. Despite the invasion of Ukraine, he couldn’t stop the remaining Arctic nations from joining NATO. Putin has condemned NATO’s ‘imperial ambitions’, accusing the military alliance of seeking to assert its ‘supremacy’ through the Ukraine conflict. The Russian leader also said that he would respond in kind if NATO deployed troops and infrastructure in Finland and Sweden after the two Nordic countries join the military alliance.
