Putin-Xi flaunt military might as China joins Russia's Vostok wargames

- Russia and China are all set to embark on a series of military drill called the Vostok Exercises. In what is a sign of Moscow’s deepening ties with Beijing, Chinese troops will travel to east Russia where the joint military exercises will be held. The wargames gain significance amid the war in Ukraine and the rising tensions around Taiwan. According to the Russian defence ministry, Vostok 2022 will be held from September 1 -7 across various locations in Russia’s Far East and the Sea of Japan.
