Russian fighter jets fly near Poland airspace amid Ukraine war; NATO on alert

The Netherlands' Defence Ministry says two of its F-35 fighter jets intercepted and escorted out a formation of three Russian military aircraft near Poland. The statement added that the then unknown aircraft approached the Polish NATO area of responsibility from Kaliningrad, a Russian Baltic coast enclave located between Poland and Lithuania. The three aircraft were identified as the Russian Ilyushin Il-20M reconnaissance aircraft which was flanked by two Sukhoi Su-27 fighter aircraft.
