Russia's Onslaught Triggers Major Blame-Game; Now Ukraine Says West Donated 'Broken Weapons’
Published on Jun 20, 2023 01:23 pm IST
Russia's rousing command on the battlefield has resulted in a Kyiv-West blame game. Ukrainian officials told the New York Times that the West sent broken weapons to Kyiv. Ukraine also complained that equipment bought on contract has not yet been delivered to them. A Ukrainian official, on condition of anonymity, said that it is frustrating that the West is saying we have enough weapons for an offensive against Russia when many of the donated weapons need extensive repair. The claim comes just a day after the U.S. said that Ukraine's training was "not perfect." Notably, the blame game has erupted as both Ukraine and the West are left "embarrassed" after the much-hyped counteroffensive turned out to be a damp squib.
