Amid intense scrutiny over his appointments and questions about links to figures associated in the public mind with the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer used a visit to a London community hub with Mayor Sadiq Khan to speak directly to children and parents about keeping young people safe and giving them a fair chance in life. In his remarks, he focused on education, opportunity and a planned crackdown on harmful online content and addictive social media, promising that “no online platform gets a free pass” on child safety and signalling possible restrictions, including a consulted ban on social media use for under‑16s.
