Children worst hit in Syria chemical attack

A suspected chemical attack in a town in Syria's northern Idlib province killed dozens of people on Tuesday, Syrian opposition activists said, describing the attack as among the worst in the country's six-year civil war. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group put the death toll at 58, saying there were 11 children among the dead. A pulmonologist working in a hospital in Syria's northern Idlib province said on Tuesday, that a nerve agent was used in an attack in the area that killed dozens of people. AbdulHai Tennari told the Associated Press in an interview via Skype that “organophosphorus compounds” were found in the victims that were brought in for treatment following the airstrike.
