The Taliban revealed the final resting place of its founder, Mullah Omar, on Sunday, after he died in 2013. Pictures released by officials showed Taliban leaders paying tribute to Omar by surrounding his grave, which is made of simple white brick, covered with what appears to be gravel, and enclosed in a green metal cage. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that Omar's death and burial place were kept secret for years amid fear of damage to the tomb because of the enemy's presence.
