Typhoon Jebi: Japan hit by strongest typhoon in 25 years

Japan is hit by Typhoon Jebi, its strongest typhoon in 25 years bringing within violent winds and heavy downpours on Tuesday, September 4. At least two people are dead following the typhoon which slammed into western Japan. The region is bracing for flooding and landslides as evacuation advisories were issued for more than 300,000 residents. Bullet train services have been reduced, while local schools and Universal Studios Japan, a theme park near Osaka, were closed for the day. The Kansai International Airport is now under deep flood waters and a tanker crashed into a road bridge connecting the airport to the mainland. Flight cancellations also affected Itami Airport in Osaka and Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya.
