Ukraine MP caught spreading lies; Shares decade-old pic of boy dubbed as Russian strike survivor

The Russia-Ukraine war is about to enter a new calendar year. Peace between the two nations, however, remains elusive as propaganda and fake news seem to take centre stage on social media platforms. In the latest, a Ukrainian lawmaker shared a fake photo and a purported story of "8-year-old Marc" with her thousands of followers on Twitter. The Ukrainian MP, Lesia Vasylenko, claimed that the boy is a Russian strike survivor. The photo is nowhere near being new and does not appear to have any relation to Ukraine. The 2013 Spanish-language edition of the book "The Misremembered Man" by Irish novelist Christina Mckenna featured the very same picture on the cover. Watch this video for full detail.
