Watch: 43 countries call out China at UN over rights' abuses in Xinjiang

In a big embarrassment for China, more than 40 countries called out it over human rights abuses in Muslim-majority province of Xinjiang at the United Nations. A statement released by 43 countries, mostly western democracies, expressed concern over the Chinese treatment of Uighur Muslims and other minorities in the Xinjiang province and called for an unfettered access of UNHRC chief to the region. Meanwhile, China has reacted strongly to the statement, calling the charges of abuse as lies and claimed that the lives of Uighurs is becoming better with each passing day.
