Firefighters rescued a suburban Chicago woman and her dog from an icy retention pond. Cathy Medernach's dog Bailey was chasing birds when it fell through the ice on Sunday in Aurora. The woman tried to rescue the dog herself using a canoe while her eight-year-old son.
