Reshma Qureshi, an acid attack survivor from India, walked the ramp during the New York Fashion Week, with the hope that it would inspire other such survivors. A native of Allahabad, Reshma was attacked with sulphuric acid by her own brother-in-law and two other men. She had severe facial burns and lost an eye, after which she even thought of committing suicide. But decided to fight back instead! Qureshi is now the face of the non-profit Make Love Not Scars that helps survivors of acid attacks.
