Why New Zealand PM was covered with white cloth: Apology for 1970s 'dawn raids'

- New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern offered a formal apology for racially-motivated raids in the 1970s in which Pacific peoples were targeted. She participated in Somaon ceremony 'Ifoga' in which she was first draped with a white mat, and then it was removed by members of the Pacific community. 'Dawn raids' in the 1970s were conducted against Pacific migrants when the economic downturn led many people to consider them a threat to their financial stability. Watch the full video for more.
