For the first time in history, a spacecraft has landed on a comet. The landing is the climax of a decade-long mission to study the 2.5 mile wide comet which is traveling at 41,000 miles per hour. Space engineers, scientists and crew cheered after watching monitors which showcased the 220-pound Philae lander touching down on the icy surface of the comet named 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. With this, the European Space Agency says it has succeeded in landing a spacecraft on a comet for the first time in history.
