Germany seeks to mend Pak-Afghan relations

Afghanistan and Pakistan, arguing over who is to blame for the growing Taliban insurgency, have agreed to hold talks at a G8 meeting next week, Germany's foreign minister said on Wednesday. Talking to a reporter in Islamabad, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said it was vital that relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan improve and the two neighbours try to intensify contacts.
