IBSA to strengthen security ties

India, Brazil and South Africa, members of the tripartite IBSA Trust Fund, sought to strengthen mutual cooperation to effectively combat militancy, piracy and organised crime Secretary (West) of India's foreign ministry, M Ganapathi, said that joint maritime exercises of IBSA should move to the South Atlantic, as it will benefit from Brazil's maritime strategies. Ganapathi said that the world economic crisis and the need for reform at the United Nations necessitated wide-ranging discussions at the summit.
