NASA's decision hailed

Astronauts onboard Space Shuttle Endeavour have said that they completely support NASA's decision to return to earth with no special repairs to the tile gash. According to astronauts, a small, deep gash in space shuttle Endeavour's heat shield poses no threat to the ship and does not need repair. NASA officials considered sending astronauts out to patch the three-inch gash in the shuttle's belly, but decided Endeavour was okay.
