Over 20,000 people dead in Japan disaster: Ex minister

Former Japanese finance minister Koji Omi on Tuesday confirmed the death of over 20,000 people in the recent Japan earthquake and subsequent Tsunami. Omi, also the founder Chairman of Science and Technology in Society Forum, is the first Japanese official to visit India after the disaster on March 11. Speaking to mediapersons during a conference today in New Delhi, Omi said with support of the international community, Japan was able to rehabilitate and support survivors.
