Pakistani legislators begin vote for president
Updated on Sept 06, 2008 09:31 pm IST
Members of Pakistan's two chamber parliament and four assemblies began voting on Saturday to elect a new President. The presidential election looks set to be a three-way tussle between country's three main political parties. The front runner in the race is Asif Ali Zardari representing Pakistan' People Party. Zardari's main rival for president looks likely to be Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui, nominated by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
