Half a dozen militants attacked an army school in northwestern Pakistan on Tuesday, leaving at least 130 people dead and dozens more injured, officials said. Pervez Khattak, chief minister of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Province, told reporters that the attackers killed at least 100 students, and a Khattack aide later said the total death toll has risen to 104. When he spoke to reporters, Khattak said the death toll could rise as several attackers were holed up in the principal's office and other locations at the Army Public School and Intermediate College in Peshawar. The attackers were holding an unknown number of hostages, Khattak said.
