Pope, on Christmas calls for end to child abuse

Pope Benedict led the world's 1.1 billion Roman Catholics into Christmas with a midnight mass on Thursday in which he appealed for an end to child abuse, in all of its forms. The pontiff, who this year repeatedly addressed the issue of sexual abuse of minors by Catholic clergy, spoke broadly about various kinds of abuse ranging from recruiting child soldiers to abandoning children to the streets.
