Tibetans based in Australia organised protests on Wednesday as the Olympic flame arrived in Australian capital Canberra on April 23 ahead of the Thursday's torch relay. Peaceful protests were held in Sydney. Tibetan protesters also gathered outside the Fairbairn Air Force Base, where the torch arrived. Security was tight at the air base to prevent the arrival ceremony from being disrupted. Pro-China supporters were able to view the ceremony from behind the perimeter fence.
