Geologists found a meteorite in South Australia, which is believed to date back to the very beginning of the solar system. The 1.7 kilogram meteorite was spotted falling into mud in a remote part of Lake Eyre in South Australia. Aboriginal guides helped the two researchers navigate around the lake mud during the three day recovery operation which involved a light plane a drone and a quad bike. Thirty two cameras across Western and South Australia formed an observation network which helped narrow down the search for the meteorite.
