And now, it's landed at the Smithsonian National Zoo.”A lot of people just don't even know that there's a plastic pollution problem in the ocean so the first step is to just wake them up.”Lead artist Angela Pozzi is waking people up with marine animals made entirely of plastic, once floating in the ocean. “I thought it was lovely, really colorful and eye catching...”Pozzi and her team at “Washed Ashore” collected the debris from the Oregon coastline. They found themselves cleaning everything from water bottles to flip flops. And they all ended up here. As Pozzi says, to raise awareness of plastic pollution's impact on the environment
