Watch | Rare ‘werewolf’ kitten rescued in South Africa

One of the world's rarest kittens has been rescued from under a bush in a Cape Town, South Africa.

The Lykoi, or werewolf cat, is only one of 35 known in the world and is the only natural-born Lykoi on record in South Africa.

Now this little male kitten goes by the name Eyona.

He's a Lykoi cat - lycos means wolf in Greek and as the cats are often thought to have the appearance of a werewolf, the name Lycoi came about. Lykoi cats have been recognized by the International Cat Association (TICA) as an 'advanced new breed'. Find out more about this fascinating breed.
