Zelensky strikes Russia again, hinders US-led peace push? UAE trilateral summit ends with no deal

Ukraine, Russia and the U.S. wrapped up two days of peace talks in Abu Dhabi without a formal deal but with all three sides calling the unprecedented trilateral format constructive and agreeing to keep negotiating, even as heavy cross‑border strikes continued on Belgorod, Kyiv and Kharkiv. In his post‑talk statement from the UAE, President Volodymyr Zelensky said it was the first such trilateral format “in quite some time” and that “a lot was discussed” in constructive fashion, listing Ukraine’s team (Rustem Umerov, Kyrylo Budanov, Andrii Hnatov, Davyd Arakhamiia, Sergiy Kyslytsya and Vadym Skibitskyi) and the U.S. delegation (Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Dan Driscoll, Alexus Grynkewich and Josh Gruenbaum), alongside unnamed Russian military and intelligence officials. He said the central focus was “possible parameters for ending the war,” highlighted U.S. ideas on how to formalize those parameters and design security guarantees, and stressed Kyiv’s support for American “monitoring and oversight” of any end‑of‑war process.
