The people of Manchester gathered to honour the lives of victims of the recent Manchester bomb blast, on Thursday. The crowd sang English rock band Oasis’s Don’t Look Back in Anger. According to a report by time.com, the local residents gathered at St. Ann’s Square in the city, to pay respect to the 22 people who tragically lost their lives on Monday.
Following a moment of silence, a local resident, Lydia Bernsmeier-Rullow, started singing the band’s song. Following her emotional tribute, everyone present joined her and sang the classic in unison.
“It was beautiful, I got goosebumps. It was such a lovely moment,” she was quoted as saying by People.com.
“The song has just been in my head the last few days and it says it all: Don’t Look Back in Anger is what Mancunians (Manchester residents) do. It’s a very Mancunian sentiment. When bad things happen we come together. We find the love rather than the hate,” she added.

A journalist from British news publication Guardian who was present at the gathering shot the song on his phone and posted it on social media. Oasis was formed in 1991 by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, who too hail from the city of Manchester.
