From Adam Levine to Ellen DeGeneres: Celebrities pray for Las Vegas victims

Stars from the music world and beyond mourn for the victims of the fatal shooting in Las Vegas

Celebrities from across the globe expressed their shock, sadness and anger following the mass shooting at a Las Vegas country music festival, where people had poured in from the United States and abroad, on Monday.

American pop rock band Maroon 5’s frontman, Adam Levine was one of the first celebrities to express his shock. “The country is crying over the horrific tragedy and heartbreak in Vegas. Prayers to all the families and loved ones of those who were lost. Prayers for healing,” he wrote.

The shooting took place at an outdoor music festival right when the night’s headliner Jason Aldean was performing. The musician, too, posted on Instagram and confirmed that he was safe. “Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still don’t know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that my crew and I are safe. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy ­— what should have been ­­— a fun night,” he wrote.

According to the latest reports at least 59 people have been killed and more than 500 have been wounded. A lot of celebs couldn’t keep up with the rising death count. “Oh God. Vegas. WTF is happening. Can’t keep up with all the pain this country is facing. Sending love to Vegas,” actor-comedian Bob Saget tweeted.

TV talk show host Ellen Degeneres posted a picture of a heart on Instagram and urged everyone to love one another. “Care. Love. Be outraged. Be devastated. Just don’t give up. The world needs good humans today,” she reiterated the same on her talk show and sported a pink coloured sweater with a heart on it.

Actor Mandy Moore, too, wrote a similar thing on her social media account. “All the love in the world to the victims, their loved ones, the first responders and all those affected by this unimaginable and senseless tragedy.” Actor Neil Patrick Harris wrote, “I can’t wrap my head around the atrocity in Vegas. Sending my heart and deepest regrets to the families and friends affected.”
