    Ukraine tells NATO members to send arms before it's 'too late'

    Ukrainian foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba said Thursday he expected NATO members to send Kyiv the weapons it needs but insisted they had to act quickly before Russia launches another major offensive.

    "Either you help us now and I'm speaking about days, not weeks, or your help will come too late. And many people will die, many civilians will lose their homes, many villages will be destroyed. Exactly because this help came too late," AFP quoted Kuleba as saying after his meeting with NATO foreign ministers in Brussels.

    France summons Russian envoy over Bucha tweet

    France has summoned Russia’s ambassador over his tweet suggesting that images of civilians killed in Ukraine's town of Bucha were staged. French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian called the tweet “indecent", AP reported.

    Thursday's tweet, which was later removed but had already been reprinted by numerous French media, showed a street in Bucha with a knocked-out tank and numerous journalists, under the caption “film set.”

    A Ukrainian official in the east of the county has warned residents remaining that time is running out to flee mounting Russian attacks. "These few days may be the last chance to leave," Lugansk regional governor Sergiy Gaiday wrote to residents on Facebook. "All cities of the Lugansk region are under enemy fire. One person was killed as a result of shelling this morning in Kreminna," he added, referring to a town in the region with a population of around 20,000 people.

    Ruble erases invasion loss, bucking default risks, sanctions

    The Russian ruble has wiped out the steep losses it incurred in the weeks after Putin invaded Ukraine. The currency advanced past 81.16 per US dollar in Moscow trading, the level it closed at on Feb. 23 -- the day before Putin launched his attack.
