Paul Doyle, 53, from West Derby, Liverpool, is facing a string of serious charges after allegedly ramming his car into crowds of football fans during Liverpool FC’s title victory parade, injuring nearly 80 people. He has been charged with dangerous driving, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding with intent to cause injury, and attempted GBH. Doyle is expected to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The unverified profile reveals that Doyle is married and has three daughters, as written in the bio of his X account. Amid the investigation, a LinkedIn profile purporting to belong to Doyle has also surfaced. According to Companies House records, he has been linked to several now-dissolved retail businesses, including a home-based mail order company called Farout Caps.

Liverpool crash victims' toll rises
In a police update issued Wednesday afternoon, authorities confirmed that the number of people injured in the incident has risen to 79, though several have since been discharged from the hospital. The victims range in age from just 9 to 78 years old.
Hundreds of thousands of Liverpool fans had gathered on Monday to celebrate Arne Slot’s team clinching their record-equalling 20th top-flight title. As the open-top bus parade was drawing to a close, witnesses reported seeing a car veer into a cordoned-off street near the route, ploughing into fans before briefly stopping and then moving forward again.
The same day, police confirmed that they had arrested a 53-year-old British man who was today revealed as Boyle.
At a press conference on Wednesday evening, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS Mersey-Cheshire, Sarah Hammond, formally announced the charges against Doyle. Merseyside Police Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims followed with further details, outlining the seven offences the father-of-three now faces in connection with the incident.
