President Donald Trump is in attendance for the College Football Playoff National Championship game between the Miami Hurricanes and the Indiana Hoosiers, along with daughter Ivanka Trump.
Social media users are divided if Trump was cheered or booed during the course of the national anthem.
The White House shared a video of Trump saluting when the national anthem is played, and the audience's reaction when Trump and family appeared on screen. They wrote, “President Donald J. Trump receives massive cheers from the Hard Rock Stadium crowd during the national anthem at the @CFBPlayoff National Championship.”

Mixed crowd reaction at Miami

A few seconds later, the president and his family were off the screen, and the camera focused on the field.
This was not the first time Trump had experienced a blend of boos and cheers at a sporting event. In September 2025, at the U.S. Open men’s final, he received a noticeable mix of responses, including significant booing, when shown on the jumbotron during the national anthem.

Social media is at a crossroads, with Trump supporters saying that he was widely applauded and cheered, while Trump critics believe that he was booed and not cheered when the camera panned on him.
An X user wrote, making fun of Trump, “LMAO THE WHOLE STADIUM AT THE CFP NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BOOED WHEN TR*MP WAS SHOWN ON SCREEN HAHAHAHAHHAHA.”
Another user wrote, “Trump getting mostly booed at the CFB title game between Miami and Indiana fans…two obvious conservative strongholds in 2024…is very funny lmao.”
Another X user in support of Trump went a mile ahead and wrote, “President Trump Gets Standing Ovation, The Crowd Went Absolutely Wild Seeing Trump at the CFP Championship Between Hoosiers and Hurricanes.”
A news page on X, Age of GenZ, was leaning towards the mixed crowd reactions and wrote, “President Trump shown on the Jumbotron at the CFP National Championship in Miami. The roar of the crowd was a mix of cheers and boos.”
