The Pittsburgh Steelers are actively addressing several roster needs as they approach free agency, and acquiring two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a second-round pick is such a bold move.
Two-time Pro Bowl receiver will be heading back to Seattle, according to NFL Insider Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, who reports Pittsburgh will send back a 2025 2nd-round draft pick.

Steelers sign Metcalf to historic $150M deal
The Steelers signed him to a five-year, $150 million contract, the largest deal ever given to a wide receiver in franchise history. The QB's $33 million in new money annually is tied for the 4th highest total received annually at the receiver position in the NFL with Brandon Aiyuk and Tyreek Hill.
“The $33M new money average makes it the largest deal in franchise history,” Pelissero wrote on X.
Metcalf brings an element the Steelers have been missing—a dominant deep threat capable of stretching defences and making an impact in one-on-one matchups. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 235 pounds, he is a physical mismatch for defenders. In 2024, he recorded 992 receiving yards and five touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to produce at a high level.
