The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon near a village in Yongshun County in Hunan province when the bus carrying almost 50 passengers overturned, the Xinhua report said, citing the county government.

Thirty-three passengers were injured and taken to hospital. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.

There were no details of the nationalities of the passengers.
