In an important notification on the Common Recruitment Process for recruitment of clerks in participating organisations (CWE-Clerks-V), the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) announced on Thursday that it will not conduct interviews any more for selecting candidates for CWE Clerks V. In a communique to this effect, the institute also mentioned that the new rule will be valid even for candidates who’ve applied for CWE-Clerks-V jobs on the basis of advertisement displayed by the IBPS on its website on July 26, 2015. This was also published in Employment News between August 15 and 21, 2015.
In the revised process, 100% weightage will be given to the candidates’ score in the online main examination. Earlier the weigtage of the main exam to interview was 80:20.
The notification adds that a candidate should qualify in the CWE Clerks-V main examination and be sufficiently high in merit to be shortlisted for provisional allotment based on the vacancies declared by the participating organisations. Since the clerical recruitment is State/UT specific and proficiency in the official language of the State/UT is preferred, the allottee banks will have the full discretion to ascertain the candidate’s familiarity with the state/UT’s official language before issuing the offer letter. Decision of the Bank in this regard shall be binding on the provisionally allotted candidates, the notice added.
All other conditions regarding the examination, as announced by the IBPS advertisement on July 26, remain the same. In case of any confusion check notice on official website of IBPS.
