In order to generate interest in science subject among students, the Punjab government has decided to arrange free tours for them to the Kapurthala science city under its flagship ‘Vigyan Yatra’ scheme.

“Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal will kick start the scheme on February 18 from the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Phase-3B1, SAS Nagar, by flagging off first bus to the science city,” said education minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema.

Under the scheme, 1,100 students would be daily taken to the science city. Cheema said one bus from each district carrying 50 students would be flagged off. The entry fee at the science city would be paid by the state government. The students of government schools from class 6 to class 12 would be covered under the scheme, added Cheema.
