A British abstract artist, who has received an Orientation Grant from India, will soon travel to the country to exhibit his colourful works. The artist, Alan Osborne, a graduate of fine art from East London University, will travel to Delhi next month for the first part of his two exhibitions — one in Mumbai in January 2013 and the other in London in Spring 2013.
Osborne received the Orientation Grant from the Nehru Centre, Cultural Wing of the Indian High Commission in London, last November, after his second successful solo exhibition there, which was an instant success among the local community in Newham, East London.
Osborne will be working alongside other artists and academics in India for three months. “This trip to India is a dream come true for me. I will be working in a studio in Gujarat to produce an exhibition later in Mumbai,” says Osborne.
“The Nehru Centre has asked me to put on another show there in March 2013 when I return, to coincide with the colourful Holi festival. I hope this will be the culmination of my learning and study of the culture during my time in India,” he adds.
