The installation ‘break bread’ feeds viewers through six sculptural chambers filled with everything from tech-based mirror mazes to a secret 1950s style diner. Throughout its duration, the cake castle hosts a series of artist talks and events, from a private cirque du soleil performance to an underground comedy show.

Here’s a look inside the supersized saccharine sculpture.

The chandelier is lined with cherries and orange slices, and features a large set of fanged teeth at its core.

The exhibit also includes works inspired by the adult-themed Cirque du Soleil show “Zumanity,” currently running in New York.

Spanning across the ceiling and wrapping around architectural beams, the acrylic frosted works are replete with glistening rhinestones, stiletto heels, and sharp fangs, integrated into each installation.

Visitors can make their way through the labyrinth of fake cream and fruit to a secret 1950s-style diner serving food from local chefs.

Now part of a 30-day event called Break Bread hosted by the gallery, this cake maze started life in Oakland in 2014, as an installation created by Scott Hove alone.
