When a group of students from different religious backgrounds come together in a comedy of errors, chaos ensues and laughter follows. The Class Act is one such play formed by a group of young people, mostly below the age of 23.
Written and directed by Meherzad Patel, the cast includes Danesh Irani, Sajeel Parakh, Vishwesh Krishnamurthy, Danesh Khambata, Maanvi Gagroo and Max Fernandes. A Silly Point Production play, The Class Act will now be produced by Raell Padamsee’s Ace Productions.

The English comedy, in a short span of time, has garnered accolades from audiences of all ages. Raell Padamsee, Ace Productions, says, “It’s amazing that a young bunch of actors have put together such a professional production. I took some people to see the play some time ago and they were almost rolling on the aisle!” She informs that the director of the play had approached her earlier to be taken under the Ace Productions banner, but the dates didn’t work out as Padamsee was busy with her own production, The Game, at that time.

“The best part is it’s not a college level play even though it has gained high popularity among the city college students. Also, it’s really about Mumbai, so it’s relatable,” Padamsee says.

Padamsee plans to take The Class Act to other parts of the country soon.
