If you are thinking that with the long weekend gone by, the celebrations for Independence Day is also over, then it’s time to visit the Rajpath, to be a part of Bharat Parv, a week-long cultural festival, which is on till August 18, and celebrate the 70th year of the nation’s independence.
The Parv (festival) has been organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). Piyush Tiwari, director, commercial and marketing, ITDC says, “Such celebrations at Rajpath on the Independence Day is a first. Until now, Independence Day events have been limited to the PM’s address from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Celebrations are also taking place between Man Singh Road and Janpath.”

{{/usCountry}}There will be cultural programs and sumptuous cuisine from various states for people to enjoy. One big stage has been set set-up, along with small stages on the north and south sides of Rajpath lawns for the cultural programs. The cultural events start at 6pm and goes on until 9 pm every day.

“During the festival one can get an essence of various states as there are pavilions, which have been put up to highlight their contributions in the country’s Independence, cleanliness, and development activities,” adds Tiwari.
