A four-year-old tigress was found dead in her enclosure at Bandhavgarh tiger reserve on Saturday.
This is the second death of a tigress at Bandhavgarh in less than 10 days. Director of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Sudhir Kumar, told HT that forest officials spotted the dead tigress in an enclosure in Magadhi range. The exact reason of the tigress’s death has not been ascertained yet.

He further said that the mother of the dead tigress had died in the reserve’s Pataura range in 2009 after which her cubs were shifted to Magadhi range.
