Atal Jyoti Abhiyan: Govt funds misused

According to sources, the bureaucrats of chief minister’s home district spent worth Rs 18 lakh on transportation during launching of Atal Jyoti Abhiyan.

The officials spent Rs 18 lakh in the name of transportation during inauguration programme of Atal Jyoti Yojana in the district.

According to sources, the bureaucrats of chief minister’s home district spent worth Rs 18 lakh on transportation during launching of Atal Jyoti Abhiyan.

They also spent Rs 1.43 lakh in the name of sound system for two hours programme, Rs 72,000 for lighting arrangements and Rs 30,000 on orchestra.

Moreover, it is amazing that only Rs 2,600 was spent in the name of providing drinking water to 50,000 people.

The matter came to light when panchayat department demanded Rs 11 lakh even after taking Rs 15 lakh after the programme.

The department was given Rs 10 lakh on July 24.

The government and administration representatives had targeted to call 50,000 people during inauguration of Atal Jyoti mission which was launched on June 11 from Ashta block in the district.

Around Rs 27 lakh were spent during the programme out of which Rs 18,13,266 was spent only on transportation.

There are several villages in Ichhawar, Sehore, Ashta, Budni and Nasrullahganj tehsils where the scheme has been launched but the villagers have to use lanterns.
