Bajrang Dal activists from Bhopal joined hands with their counterparts in other parts of the country in protesting against Rajkumar Hirani's Aamir Khan starrer 'PK' at Jyoti talkies on Monday. The show was interrupted for about an hour.
The flipside of the agitation was targeting a single screen where only four shows are being screened, while shows at malls with multi-screens ran unhindered. When Bajrang Dal coordinator Kamlesh Thakur was asked why they targeted a single screen, he replied that multi-screens would be their next target.
Bajrang Dal activists protested against the movie PK at Jyoti talkies on Monday around 11am. About two dozen activists present at the talkies were not allowed on the premises by the police personnel. Bajrang Dal members had to then arrange for a poster of PK, which was then put on fire.
However, police had to face a tough time with Bajrang Dal members, who jostled to get into the cinema hall. The noon show was interrupted for about an hour due to the protest.
"They (the protestors) have no right to disturb our show. The censor board has passed the movie and we have paid to watch the movie. No one else, apart from me, has the right to decide for me on which movie to watch," said Rajesh Verma, who came to watch the movie at the theatre.
