Simhastha-2016 to be held in Ujjain is all set go green, as it will see biofuel-run vehicles and remain plastic-free. This was revealed by Madhya Pradesh urban development and environment minister Kailash Vijaywargiya at a press conference on Wednesday.
He said, "Infrastructure and other facilities for Simhastha will be ready by January 2015. This Simhastha will be important in respect of education and environment. Experts and heads of all religions will be invited to hold discussions on various social issues during the Simhastha."
The minister further said 'Dera Saccha Sauda' from Haryana that would take care of the cleanliness of the area would also organise an international yoga camp.
Talking about the cleanliness campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, VIjaywargiya said, "We are going to appoint an NGO that takes care of cleanliness of President's House and Parliament to clean the city."
"We have divided the state into 28 clusters to deal with the solid waste management. Also, we will construct individual and public toilets to end open defecation," he added. Minister said a committee of experts would be formed to fulfill Modi's wish for smart city.
Discussing housing projects, the minister said government had also simplified the working of the MP Housing Board so that dream of possessing a house of people belonging to middle class and the lower middle class could be translated into reality. Minister also said, "We will construct 5 lakh houses to do away with slums."

Congress questions BJP claims on development
The Congress on Wednesday countered urban development minister Kailash Vijayvargiya's claim on urban development in state. The party said while majority of municipal corporations are headed by the BJP, there has been no significant development.
