Bhopal: 7 sent to judicial custody for forcing minors to change religion

Seven members of a Christian organisation, who were arrested on charges of 'converting' minors to their faith, were sent to jail under judicial custody on Wednesday.
The seven were arrested from Bilkhiriya town on the outskirts of Bhopal on Tuesday when they were allegedly holding classes to convert some minors of other communities.
The arrested included six members of a Mumbai-based organisation and their local aide Harikishan. They were produced in a local court and remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday.
The incident came to the police notice after two-three dozen Bajrang Dal activists created a ruckus at the place.
Meanwhile, the police have also lodged a case of rioting against the Bajrang Dal activists.
Assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Riaz Iqbal said the minors were being made to listen to Christian sermons without informing their parents. The parents even alleged that Harikishan had tried to influence their children earlier also, he said.
